PRIVACY POLICY - OUR COMMITMENT TO YOUR PRIVACY

This site is owned and operated by BlueSeas, a division of Offshore Marine. Your privacy on the Internet is of the utmost importance to us. At BlueSeas, we want to make your experience with us online both safe and secure.

Because we gather certain types of information about our users, we feel you should fully understand our policy and the terms and conditions surrounding the capture and use of that information. This privacy statement discloses what information we gather and how we use it.

1. Information BlueSeas gathers and tracks

BlueSeas gathers two types of information about users:

A. User Provided - Information that users provide BlueSeas through optional, voluntary submissions. These are voluntary submissions for advertising, estimates, quotes, proposals, newsletters, or responses to your inquiries that you have requested.

B. BlueSeas Tracking Information - Information BlueSeas gathers through aggregated tracking information derived mainly by tallying page views throughout our sites. This information allows us to better tailor our content and to better understand the demographics of our audience. No personal identifying information is gathered through this process.

Under no circumstances does BlueSeas divulge any information about an individual user to any third party.

2. How BlueSeas Gathers User Information

A. Optional Voluntary Information - We offer the following free and paid services, which require some type of voluntary submission of personal information by users:

Advertising, Estimates, Quotes, Newsletters, and Proposals - BlueSeas gathers the names, addresses, email addresses and other personally identifying information of users who voluntarily request services from us.

B. Usage Tracking - BlueSeas tracks user traffic patterns throughout our site. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. BlueSeas does break down overall usage statistics according to a user's domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user's browser).

BlueSeas sometimes tracks and catalogs the search terms that users enter in order to find our site, but this tracking is never associated with individual users. We use tracking information to determine which areas of our sites users like and don't like based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.

C. Universal Analytics - BlueSeas also uses a tool called Google Analytics™ to collect information about use of this site. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they view, and other sites they have visited prior to coming to this site. We use this information only to improve this site. Google Analytics collects only IP addresses, it does not collect personally identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with any personally identifiable information. Google recently released Universal Analytics™ as a replacement of Google Analytics. Universal Analytics is Google’s new operating standard for website data collection, reporting and tracking. It uses a single cookie which assigns a unique, but not personally identifying, visitor ID that allows tracking of the same user between multiple devices and browsers and is able to import data from online and offline devices. The transition to Universal Analytics is expected to occur gradually over time until all users switch over or are otherwise automatically transferred to the Universal Analytics platform at which time Google Analytics is expected to be phased out.

Google’s ability to use and share information collected by Google Analytics about your visits to this site is restricted by the Google Analytics Terms of Use and the Google Privacy Policy.

Information about Universal Analytics is available at Universal Analytics Upgrade Guide and its related Frequently Asked Questions. You can prevent Google Analytics from recognizing you on return visits to this site by disabling cookies on your browser.  However, Universal Analytics will allow tracking even when cookies are disabled.
